The Konecranes Gottwald Model 8 Mobile Harbor Crane is the largest and most powerful crane in our family of large mobile harbor cranes. Available in a number of variants, it is a top-performance crane for the most demanding applications in multi-purpose and special purpose terminals. 
 
Model 8's performance in numbers: lifting capacity up to 200 t, a maximum working radius of 64 m, lifting speeds of up to 140 m/min, A8 classification with a 63 t grab curve. This crane can be used alongside ships up to super-post-Panamax and Capesize Bulker.  
 
The Model 8 crane is extremely rugged, making it a universal crane for all applications requiring top handling performance. It has the ability to carry out duties normally reserved for large, custom-built handling equipment. 
 
It can handle particularly heavy loads in project lifting, where it can lift up to 200 t at a radius of up to 20 m (4,000 mt). In the bulk goods sector, it has made a name for itself as a four-rope grab crane, not just as a mobile harbor crane, but also as a portal harbor crane on rails and as a crane on barge.

The Model 8 crane is equipped with a standard range of features that improve productivity and eco-efficiency for economical, sustainable cargo handling in ports and terminals.

We also offer a range of optional, special features such as:

  • Load guidance system, including:

     - linear load motion

     - point-to-point handling mode
     - hoisting height limiting system

  • Tandem lift assistant and vertical lift assistant
  • Verifiable weighing system

The use of energy-efficient hybrid drive units or external power sources significantly improves the efficiency of the drive system and helps reduce the environmental impact.
