Until today we have moved cranes and other objects with total weight more than 1.25 million tons without cargo loss. The heaviest unit being the bottom section of a cruise liner for (Walt) Disney Cruise Line with a weight of 10,300 tons.

We can back slip the crane combined with planned crane shuffle, and move it from the quay to the yard if any crane repair or modernization needs to carry out. We also can arrange loading or unloading from or to a barge.

The efficient FLUIDTS air gliding system is also used in civil engineering and in other industries. The system has been successfully used for railway bridges, vessels (cruise liner and cargo ships) tanks, offshore and other steel constructions, as well as for tunneling shields.

The heavy lifting modules for FLUIDTS air gliding system have a bearing capacity of 250-ton each. The speed of the system is 1 m/min. with a friction of 1% only.

Reference: CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) uses large accelerators to increase particle velocity until it is close to the speed of light, and then allows them to collide with other particles. Detectors observe the effects of these collisions. The FLUIDTS air gliding system was used to move and remove the magnet sections of the detectors (7 x 2,000-ton each) to analyze the material parts inside the magnet.

Reference: A ship-to-shore crane was hit by a vessel at Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) in Port Said. The accident caused major damages to the crane and an unstable position as the crane was pushed-off the rails. Konecranes provided the solution to secure the customer’s crane. The crane was moved with the FLUIDTS® air gliding system in a sequence of turning-side-slipping and back-slipping to the inner yard. This was done so that all the needed repair works could be carried out. After the repair the crane was again side- and fore-slipped back to the rails. This solution allowed SCCT to continue with its quay operations without interference.
