Konecranes offers a competitive and comprehensive range of explosion proof cranes and components. All strategic components, such as wire rope hoists, chain hoists, belt hoists, travelling machineries, end carriages and crane controls are designed and manufactured to ensure the highest safety level required in hazardous atmospheres in chemical and petrochemical plants, oil refineries, gas power plants, waste water treatment plants, paint shops etc.

Ex Proof Technology

• Konecranes cranes and components are designed to meet the new ATEX Directives adopted by the European Union. These directives  became mandatory in Europe July 1st, 2003. Konecranes products also comply with European explosion proof standards EN50 014 to EN50 020.
• The products meet hazardous area requirements for Category 2 & 3 (previously Zones 1 & 2) applications.
• Explosion proof classification complies with EEx de IIB T4 as standard, EEx de IIC T4 upon request. Mobile pendant stations meet always higher classification EEx de IIC T6.
• Protection method, flameproof enclosure "d" and increased safety "e", provide maximum safety operation in explosion sensitive areas.
• We can provide spark proofing features such as bronze coated hooks and bronze travelling wheels upon request.

CXT Explosion Proof Cranes

Konecranes explosion proof cranes cover range from low capacity jib cranes up to high capacity double girder process cranes. Konecranes Ex industrial cranes are available in single and double girder construction using profile or fabricated box girder design. Different main girder connections are used to tailor the crane to exactly meet the individual application requirements.

• Loads up to 80 tons (higher capacities upon request)
