areas: Heavy Lifting, Standard Lifting and Service. The activity is
coordinated in three regions; Europe, Americas and Asia-Pacific.
The importance to industry of proper service of machinery
and reduction of downtime has made Service an important
Business Area of Konecranes, with 32% of Group sales. In addition
to the strength within service, Konecranes performs strongly in
winning orders for new cranes based on its high-performance
technology. Konecranes' Heavy Lifting products are highly
sophisticated cranes for a wide variety of process industries,
harbours and shipyards. Konecranes' Standard Lifting Business
Area provides an advanced product range for lifting capacities of
less than 50 tons.
Cross selling opportunities between business areas
Globally, there are many synergies and an important
element of cross selling opportunities between the business areas.
Service create opportunities for new equipment sales and inspire
R&D-work. Also over 1.5 million service and equipment sales
calls p.a. are placed through service operations in more than
370 locations worldwide. The Company offers service to crane
customers and sells new cranes to maintenance customers. New
breakthroughs in R&D give Konecranes entrance to new customer
industries both in cranes and service. There are multiple entry
