Energy and heating plant Riikinvoima in Leppävirta, Finland, chose to automate the entire material flow with Konecranes solutions. The plant’s design calls for two cranes over the waste reception hall to load waste into a shredder. Then, the cranes feed the processed material into the boiler. Either of the cranes can complete the process alone, or work in tandem with the other crane.
The world's first next-generation bioproduct mill in Äänekoski, Finland, built by Metsä Group, is the largest woodprocessing plant in the northern hemisphere. Metsä Group wanted to automate the delivery process with a tailor-made and fully automatic Konecranes solution for loading the trains.

Alaskan Copper & Brass Co. was moving a large part of its operation from Seattle and Renton to a facility in Kent, Washington. The company needed new lifting equipment and also wanted to relocate some older cranes at the Rention facility, not purchased from Konecranes.
