Hoisting Motor
Konecranes motors are designed specifically for heavy duty overhead crane use. Extended Speed Range (ESR) allows the hoist to run at up to double the nominal speed which improves cycle times at 20% of hoist capacity or less improving overall production throughput. Bi-metal temperature protection to 170°C / 338°F. Flange mounted motor for positive alignment during replacement.
Equalizing Beam
Two independent wire ropes with fixed ends offers added safety by avoiding load/bottom block twist from high to low hoist positions as compared to continuous single rope reeving designs. Easier to inspect the rope at the equalizer when not in a sheave. Pivot points use replaceable bushings rather than mere pins slotted through steel holes. Load sensing and overload detection comes standard with provision for dual channel strain gauge integral to the equalizing beam pin.
Thruster Disc Brake Standard as Primary Hoisting Brake
200% motor torque is best in industry. The brake is mounted on the gearcase outboard input shaft rather than behind the motor which improves safety. Maintenance is easier due to visual inspection of pads as compared to motor mounted disc brakes. The standard front bridge walkway provides a stable brake maintenance work platform. Brake conditioning monitoring is available on motor mounted disc brakes.
Traversing Machineries
Two traversing reducer/motor/brake machineries provides redundancy. Improved safety with no exposed rotating connection shafts or couplings which eliminates misalignment and reduces coupling maintenance and wear. Bi-metal temperature protection to 170°C / 338°F
Hardened Wheels as Standard
End truck wheels are hardened to 45-55 HRC (419-552 HB) as standard. Robust welded box section end carriages are more durable than rectangular tube construction. Optional features such as double flange wheels on both sides, 90-degree wheel block, jacking points and rail sweep (steel or brush) provide tailored solutions.
Trolley Service Platforms
Provides safe access to all inspection points with optional two-sided platforms available. Optional foldable one trolley platform increases trolley approach to the runway rail and protection from dust and debris from overhead.
Hoisting Gear
Konecranes gears are designed specifically process duty overhead crane use. Highest quality gears hardened to Grade 6 DIN 3967 / AGMA Quality Class 11 are carburized and ground for long life. Maintenance free drum coupling allows the drum or gearcase removal without opening gearcase.
Sheaves
The sheaves are permanently lubed and sealed in upper and lower blocks. Side pulling up to 10 degrees in trolley traversing direction with articulating upper sheaves increases rope and sheave life. Longer life due to pivot points incorporating replaceable wear bushings rather than less desireablesteel pins in steel holes. Sheaves do not allow for reverse bending which extends rope life.
Rope Drum
Reeving designed for true vertical lift which maximizes your warehouse storage floor space in 2x2 or 2x4 rope reeving configurations. Improved rope life due to fewer rope falls, drums are grooved to desired lifting height rather than standard rope lengths and galvanized rope is standard. Optionally available: Deep grooves, hardened (~363 BHN), emergency brake overspeed lowering on drum, 2 hooks from one drum, overwrap indicator.
Compact Hook Block
Konecranes innovative safety hook latch trigger is standard. Sheaves are parallel with drum axis which allows for up to 10 degrees of side pulling in the trolley direction. Optional motorized rotation hook block, 90 degreed hook lock, hardened sheave (~400 BHN).
