KCI Konecranes to joint venture in the Emirates

KCI Konecranes and the Kanoo Group have established a joint venture, Crane Industrial Services LLC, in the UAE. The joint venture will give customers in the Gulf region easy access to a complete range of overhead lifting solutions including crane maintenance services for virtually all industries including harbours.

This joint venture with the Kanoo Group of the UEA reinforces KCI Konecranes presence throughout the Gulf region with a complementary network. KCI Konecranes holds a 49 percent ownership stake in the newly established joint venture and the Kanoo Group holds the remaining 51 percent stake. The Kanoo Group is one of the most diversified and highly regarded business houses within the Gulf region. A single-source supplier for all crane related needs

KCI Konecranes has had a presence in United Arab Emirates since 1996 with a wholly owned subsidiary in Dubai. KCI Konecranes has a strong market position especially within the power, steel and concrete industries in the region. The operation has primarily focused on supplying Industrial cranes within the Gulf region.

As a result of the formation of the joint venture with Kanoo, KCI Konecranes will now set out to establish a maintenance services network also in the Gulf region. Service is provided for cranes of all makes regardless of original manufacturer.

In addition to crane maintenance, the new joint venture company will provide complete cranes, modernisation services, crane components as well as spares parts. The company will also co-ordinate all sales activities for heavy-duty harbour and process cranes in the Middle East countries.
