KCI Konecranes has today signed an agreement to outsource its production of end carriages. The production will be outsourced to the new company established by the existing management and personnel in the production unit located in Urjala, Finland.
Part of the Standard Lifting Equipment Business Area, the Urjala production unit employs approximately 70 people. The employees will continue working under their existing employment contracts for the new company.
The parties have also signed an agreement according to which the new company will deliver steel structures to KCI Konecranes.
This agreement will have no effect on KCI Konecranes financial results for the current year. KCI Konecranes does not have an ownership stake in the new company.
The agreement is part of KCI Konecranes internal re-engineering program that was launched in 2003. The program aims at improving operational flexibility and enables KCI Konecranes to focus on its core activities of product development, assembly and maintenance services.
