Lifting training to a higher level

Konecranes Training Institute’s new state-of-the-art hands-on training center in New Berlin, Wisconsin, represents the next generation of technical capability for an organization that provides learning opportunities to more than 10,000 Konecranes customers every year.

After 43 years at its previous location, Konecranes Training Institute has moved to a new 13,000 square-foot campus on South Emmer Drive, adjacent to Konecranes service branch in New Berlin, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

“With the new facility, we focused on building everything to enhance the customer experience,” says General Manager Jim Lang. “Every part of the new campus is task-specific and professionally designed.” The curriculum at Konecranes Training Institute focuses on improving customers’ safety and productivity.

Lang adds that while classrooms are large enough to accommodate more people – with almost 280 square meters (over 3,000 square feet) of space – a good student-to-teacher ratio has been maintained.

We have gotten very positive comments from customers who have been through our first few classes in the new facility. The students really appreciate being in a building that has been designed just for them, Lang says.

Each year, more than 10,000 customers attend seminars and complete courses at the Konecranes Training Institute. A typical class lasts three to four days, and class sizes range between 10 to 15 customers.

We have gotten very positive comments from customers who have been through our first few classes in the new facility.

Here are three key benefits that the upgraded premises offers to our customers.

  1. A 7,500 square-foot lab allows our customers a more comprehensive training experience. It will soon feature a 5-ton top-running, double-girder Smart CXT crane with the full range of available Konecranes Smart Features for safety and productivity.
  2. The institute’s interactive audio-visual equipment is state-of-the-art, high-resolution and easily compatible with all computers, specified to enhance learning.
  3. The new location also hosts three other Konecranes divisions, giving Konecranes access to a wide pool of experts who can meet with customers when needed.

Konecranes Training Institute has 35 different courses that are offered year-round at the new campus. More information on all courses and locations is available at www.cranetrainingu.com.
