I work as a Service Technician at Konecranes, and my job is to carry out services and repair cranes.
I started working at Konecranes at the beginning of 2018 and before that, I've had a lot to do with electronics, both as an automotive electrician and as a Service Technician for heavy machinery. Then, a colleague recommended that I should apply to Konecranes, and that is how I'm here. It's the best decision I have ever made.
As a Service Technician at Konecranes, you plan your day yourself. You contact the customers, travel out to them and do what is needed, whether it is service, repair or consultation. You talk with the customers and perform the work that needs to be done.
If you work as a Service Technician at Konecranes, the work is very variable, no two days are the same. Mechanics one day, electronics the other, many customers, a lot of social interaction, and there is a great deal of freedom to plan your work yourself. You always get backup if you need it. Everything works well. The absolute best thing at Konecranes, or the best scenario, is when you have a fault, preferably electrical or technical, you must dig deeper into the functions of the various components. And when you find the fault, put your finger on it, and solve it, that is the best thing in the world.
