In May 2010, Konecranes received an order for a single boom shipyard crane from L&T Shipbuilding, India. The crane will be delivered in spring 2011 to L&T’s new shipyard at Kattupalli near Ennore Port in Chennai. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order.
Larsen & Toubro is a USD 9.8 billion technology, engineering and construction group, with global operations. It is one of the largest and most respected companies in India’s private sector. The company has one shipyard at Hazira in Gujarat and is building a new one at Kattupalli. L&T Shipbuilding focuses on the construction of niche vessels such as specialized heavy lift cargo vessels, CNG carriers, chemical tankers and other role specific vessels.

The ordered single boom shipyard crane has a lifting capacity of 35 tons, and it will be used in shipyard operations for lifting ship parts and sections.
