Konecranes’ third RTG delivery to Mexican terminal

Corporate press releases

In November 2010 Konecranes received an order for three RTG (rubber tired gantry) cranes from Altamira Terminal Portuario (ATP Altamira) in Mexico. This is Konecranes’ third RTG delivery to ATP Altamira: when the recently ordered cranes have been delivered, ATP Altamira will have nine Konecranes RTGs in their fleet. The new cranes will be delivered in July 2011. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order.

“Our cooperation with ATP Altamira started already in 2001 when the first Konecranes RTGs were delivered,” says Kim Salvén, Sales Manager, Port cranes, at Konecranes. “This third order is a clear signal of Konecranes RTGs’ excellent performance and reliability”.

The 16-wheel RTGs are equipped with active load control with a horizontal fine positioning system and Konecranes’ crane management system, ensuring safe and uninterrupted use of the cranes. They have a lifting capacity of 40 tons and can stack one over five containers high, and six plus truck lane wide.
