Optimized storage enables more efficient deliveries
Dieta Oy, one of Finland's leading suppliers of complete professional kitchens, helps its customers thrive. When service needs arise, fast spare-part deliveries are essential. Dieta Service's central warehouse in Helsinki holds over 6,000 original spare-part items, deliverable anywhere in Finland within 24 hours. This extensive assortment ensures efficient service and rapid fulfillment.
Challenge: Limited space and need for faster deliveries

As after-sales operations expanded, Dieta needed a new solution for spare-part storage. Expanding office and workshop areas within the existing warehouse was challenging. Traditional shelving would consume too much floor space and prevent efficient vertical storage. The key challenges Dieta faced included:
• Limited floor space for expanding after-sales operations
• Need to utilize the whole vertical space efficiently
• Traditional shelving would take up excessive floor area
• Requirement for faster spare-part deliveries
• Ergonomic and safe access for staff
To meet the growing demand for faster spare-part deliveries, Dieta Oy selected Agilon to improve efficiency, reduce inventory space, and enhance staff safety with ergonomic access stations.
Solution: Agilon ensures spare parts are readily available
In 2017, Dieta implemented the Konecranes Agilon inventory management system, including one robot and two access stations.
Benefits of Agilon for Dieta
• Floor space reduced from 168 m² to 39.6 m², freeing ~100 m² for other uses
• Automated handling of approximately 4,500 SKUs
• Faster picking and delivery for service staff, with spare parts available 24/7/365
• Real-time inventory tracking through ERP integration
• Scalable system that accommodates future growth
• Ergonomic access stations that improve staff safety
The Agilon system was expanded by 25% in 2019, now measuring 12 meters wide and 5.6 meters high. It also supports Dieta's outlet, creating a professional and organized appearance for customers.
Operational efficiency and inventory management
Agilon streamlines spare-part collection, eliminating the need to search the warehouse. Staff can quickly check stock levels via the portal or access station, while pre-picking parts near the access station accelerates delivery. Multiple tasks (picking, packing, labeling) can co-occur.
Incoming parts are stored through a single access station, simplifying inventory management and enabling easy reorganization. The system records all activity, maintains accurate real-time balances, and prevents shortages.
Before Agilon, managing new suppliers’ products or updated models was challenging. Agilon now saves the equivalent of one full-time employee’s daily workload in stock maintenance and reorganization. Staff pick parts directly from the system without searching or asking for help.
Occupational instructions are simplified, helping new or temporary employees learn their roles quickly. Ergonomic access stations eliminate the need to reach high shelves or crouch for low ones. Seldom-used parts are stored safely and free of dust.
Results: Agilon drives significant operational improvements
Since 2017, Agilon has been central to Dieta Oy’s after-sales efficiency, enabling faster, more accurate spare-part service, improving staff ergonomics, and reducing overall inventory needs.
