The paper roll vacuum lifter is designed for automatic, safe and gentle handling of a large variety of different paper grades and roll sizes. Purpose-built bottom seal rings between the narrow suction areas and mechanical touch-valves make for tight contact to more porous roll ends.
The lifter contains two independent vacuum pumps – one for the required vacuum generation and the second as a backup or for extra suction capacity. The vacuum level is continuously monitored and the unit has a UPS power supply or a generator back-up in case of a loss of power.
Sensors in the vacuum lifter help it avoid collisions when in full automatic mode. When operating the lifter manually the sensors make it possible to pick up a roll following the indication lights. If there is a misalignment in the conveyor pickup point, the crane automation makes a corrective action.
