Konecranes CheckApp for Daily Inspections is an easy-to-use app for crane users to quickly and easily record their findings when performing pre-shift and/or pre-lift inspections.
You can manage your team's usage of CheckApp on the yourKONECRANES customer portal. Inspection results can be viewed on the portal providing you with an audit trail of daily inspections. The information can also help you recognize potential asset-specific safety or production risk issues and identify workplace improvement opportunities and operator training needs.
The most important reason to perform daily inspections is safety. Even with regular inspections and maintenance, issues can arise for a variety of reasons including continuous or heavy use, operator behavior, overloads and more. A daily inspection helps you spot obvious damage, excessive wear or other deficiencies and lets you know that the crane is working correctly before a load is lifted.
Konecranes digital services have been awarded ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for information security management. The ISO/IEC 27001 certificate demonstrates a commitment to proactively manage the information security of Konecranes digital services and ensure compliance with legal and customer requirements. The certification applies to the development and delivery of the yourKONECRANES.com customer portal, CheckApp for Daily Inspections and the Slings and Accessories Inspection app and the TRUCONNECT suite of remote service products.
In the US a pre-shift (functional) inspection is required at the beginning of each operator's shift per OSHA 1910.179, ASME/ANSI B30.2, and CMAA SPEC. 78.
Daily inspections are also a requirement in 18 other countries. Check out the full list of countries.
CheckApp for Daily Inspections is available as an add-on to a Service agreement. CheckApp is sold per asset and can be added to any number of cranes in your facility - even those not under Service agreement. Once you decide which cranes to add CheckApp to, you can set up your users to begin using the app for daily inspections. Our CheckApp user guide provides instructions for getting started and tips for implementation.
Customers with CheckApp added to their Service agreement can add users in the Konecranes Portal. Check out our one-page instruction sheet for adding users in the portal. Before you begin, make sure your users have an email account as that is what they will use to sign into the portal.
CheckApp works on different kinds of devices, but tablets are too large to hold in one hand and a desktop or laptop needs to be on a table making for a lot of back and forth to enter checkpoints - so a mobile phone may be the best choice.
Instead of purchasing a mobile device for each operator - you can used shared devices. You’ll also want to think about where the mobile devices should be stored when not in use and if they should be checked out and back in after a shift or workday.
If you cancel your agreement, you retain access to the Konecranes Portal (subject to change, conditions apply).
