Efficiency and safety go hand in hand

We believe that safety and efficiency are strongly interlinked and that's why we listen to our customers and keep an eye on the opportunities new technologies bring for product development. So, in addition to providing some of the safest products on the market, we developed Smart Features to further enhance safety and efficiency. When materials flow without disruption, working environments are safer and this supports our goal for everyone to make it home safe, every day.

Championing customer safety

For years, Mark Ubl, VP Operations, Industrial Service in the Americas has been a champion in creating safer material flows for our customers. "Everything we sell is designed for safety and efficiency," Mark emphasizes, "but on top of that, our advanced Smart Features significantly improve the safety and reliability of our customers operations.“

When making a sales case, listening to our customer's needs and finding the right fit from our offering is crucial. "As a starting point we offer and promote safety features that fit our customers' material flow needs," says Mark. "We make it easy for our customers to make lifts safe."

Safety journey continues

Many of our existing Smart Features have been developed in collaboration with customers because of an existing need. That work continues today in our customer engagement. This special combination of crane components and software is designed specifically to improve the safety and productivity of our customer's operations.

Our cranes can be fitted with a wide variety of Smart Features to provide a more efficient material flow. Three of those features use an inclinometer to measure the angle of slope or tilt of an object with respect to gravity. This makes it possible to prevent snags, enable a hoist to lift a load straight up, and reduce and control load sway.
