Konecranes Agilon automated warehouse solution is taking a foothold in the Benelux region

Konecranes and Vanas Engineering NV have signed a distribution agreement and jointly launched the sales of Agilon automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) at the Logistica Next fair in the Netherlands. The versatile automated storage solution Agilon is now available also for warehouse management and intralogistics for companies in the Benelux region

Vanas is a specialist and distributor of warehouse and workshop equipment and WMS software systems in the Benelux, offering products and solutions to factories, warehouses and distribution centres. With this agreement, Vanas expands its portfolio of storage and picking systems in collaboration with Konecranes, becoming a supplier of Konecranes Agilon automatic warehouses in the Benelux.

Agilon is an automatic storage and picking system specifically designed for production, maintenance and distribution operations and warehouse management. It allows more storage space with fewer square metres and maximises warehouse management.

An automatic storage and transport system in one

Vanas sees the automatic storage system Agilon offers unique advantages. The goods do not need a carrier for storage. As a result, there is no extra handling at the inbound and the items with the delivered packaging can be stored immediately. Agilon can have multiple user access points on either side of the device and thanks to the compact robot, channels can be provided between Agilon units, allowing items to be moved through different zones. Agilon enables internal material transfer within factory premises.

Thanks to the integrated scale and camera of the user access point, the warehouse is completely accurate and reliable. Agilon is highly scalable and adaptable to customer needs. The structure of the system is flexible and there is room for tailored solutions, for example, it is possible to build passages for forklift traffic. With the system's innovative structure, it can be further developed according to the customer needs.

These unique advantages – such as articles in original packaging that are presented as one item and weighed and photographed – provide a unique combination from which many warehouses can benefit.

"It is great to be able to distribute this innovative system. These unique advantages – such as articles in original packaging that are presented as one item and weighed and photographed – provide a unique combination from which many warehouses can benefit," says Andy Van Mieghem, Managing Director of Vanas Engineering.

The system is so convenient that suppliers can fill the machine themselves, after which the users can request the items.

"The tools and spare parts are supplied by suppliers and stored in the original packaging. In addition, they are issued to the technical service in a controlled manner using the FIFO principle. The system is so convenient that suppliers can fill the machine themselves, after which the users can request the items. With this partnership, we expand our portfolio, and we are positioning ourselves more than ever as a total integrator within the logistics sector. We see benefits for various applications, such as technical maintenance warehouses are ideal user applications. We are very much looking forward to launching Agilon in the Benelux", concludes Andy Van Mieghem.

Warehouse optimization is more relevant than ever within the logistics sector.

"With this partnership, we have a firm foothold within the Benelux. Warehouse optimisation is more relevant than ever within the logistics sector. Vanas' expertise will help us bring our technology to the right companies", says Vesa Hämetvaara, Director of Konecranes Agilon.
