The AVOLUTION OF INTERMODAL from Konecranes is the seamless, united combination of Automated BOXPORTER RMG (A-BOXPORTER RMG) cranes working the rail lines and a complete range of automated horizontal transport machines including Konecranes Noell A-STRADS and A-SPRINTERS, Konecranes Gottwald AGVs and Lift-AGVs, and Automated Terminal Tractors in partnership with Terberg. It also includes terminal process planning, simulation, emulation and software control. This is the package that turns the EVOLUTION OF INTERMODAL into the AVOLUTION OF INTERMODAL.

The widest and deepest offering in intermodal

Our offering for intermodal includes BOXPORTER RMG (rail mounted gantry) cranes, man-driven with an evolution path to remote operation and automation (A-BOXPORTER). They offer accurate, smooth and efficient container handling in intermodal yards with high throughput. We also offer Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes with patented Active Load Control technology that eliminates container sway. Konecranes RTGs are an excellent fit for intermodal operations that are too big for reach stackers, but too small for RMGs.

LIft trucks

Konecranes also offers reach stackers and container lift trucks for both laden and unladen container handling. Konecranes lift trucks have a wide range of appreciated standard features including an ergonomic cabin, load-sensing hydraulics and a strong box chassis. And a wide range of optional features including Work Zone and Ecolifting.
