You can combine a cable reel system with a Konecranes battery pack for interrupted container yard operation. Batteries are used as the main power supply for the crane, and they are charged from the grid with a very low peak power demand. This is the same principle as has field-proven with hundreds of diesel-hybrid Konecranes RTGs already working.

You can combine a busbar system and Konecranes battery packs in different ways. A low peak power demand for new or existing busbar infrastructure can be achieved with dynamic charging, or you can use a short section of busbar for static charging. Both approaches provide savings and solve different electrification problems.

Konecranes was the first to introduce a battery option for RTGs. You can get 4 hrs' operation at 222 kW or 8 hrs' operation at 296 kW. The technology has been proven on 200+ hybrid Konecranes RTGs already working. Both of these battery packs can be combined with cable reel and busbar systems in the Konecranes E-Hybrid RTG for longer blackout mitigation.
