This text outlines how Konecranes collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit our websites or use our guest wi-fi network. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.

Data Collection and Use

Websites

The Konecranes website automatically collects certain browsing data. This may include, for example, IP addresses, the approximate geographic location of the internet-connected device, browser type, operating system, and other usage data such as browsing history, page views, time on site, referrer sources, click path and online campaign tracking.

This information is used to identify technical issues and ensure the functionality of the website, improve its performance, enhance the user experience, help us understand user behaviour and improve content relevance. Konecranes may also use IP addresses to diagnose technical issues, manage the site, analyze trends, and monitor user activity to better understand user preferences and tailor content accordingly.

Konecranes aims to understand how its website is used. This insight helps us serve our customers and stakeholders more effectively.

We retain website visitor data for a maximum of 14 months.

When using our guest wi-fi network the following data is collected from you and your device.

Basic information

  • Email address
  • Name of the user

Information is stored as long as the account for the user is active. Expired accounts are deleted automatically every day.

Session logs

  • Access point name through which the connection was made
  • Login Timestamp

Session logs are stored for one week after which they are automatically deleted from the database.

Endpoint/device information

  • MAC address
  • IP address
  • MAC Vendor (for example, "Intel Corporate")
  • Hostname
  • Device Category (for example, "Computer")
  • Device OS Family (for example, "Windows")
  • Device Name (for example, "Windows")
  • Host User Agent (for example, "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/93.0.4577.82 Safari/537.36")

Data is used only to provide the wi-fi connection and ensure security of our network.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. We also ensure that our data processors comply with these security measures.

Data Disclosures and Transfers

We will not disclose the data to third parties. Due to the technical implementation of data processing, some of the data is located on the server of an external subcontractor, from where it is processed using a technical user connection. 

In its business, Konecranes uses partners who provide us with e.g. IT services. Some of these partners are located outside the EU/EEA. When doing so, we rely on EU Commission Standard Contractual Clauses.

We do not sell the information.
