Hoisting Synchronization

Hoist synchronization for optimized load handling

Cranes can be equipped with two or more main hoists in order to use below-the-hook lifting devices or lift long materials like steel bars and plates. With two hoists lifting the same load, the hooks need to move at the same speed to keep the load in alignment. The Konecranes Hoisting Synchronization Smart Feature monitors and controls the position difference of the hooks and synchronizes the movement of each hoist to keep the load in alignment. This function works even when the load is not equal on each hook giving you better accuracy and faster, safer load handling.

Hoisting Synchronization in action

The feature is activated when ‘Common Use Mode’ is selected on the operator interface. No other push button or switch is needed. This feature is based on the known position of both hooks. The common hoisting speed of the hooks is limited according to the slower hoist and the hoist having longer ramp times defines the common acceleration/deceleration times.

Add Smart Features to your crane

You can buy Smart Features already installed on your new Konecranes equipment, or have them added to your existing cranes with a modernization. Choose the ones you want, or ask us to recommend a features package that fits your specific lifting needs.
